cz 858 disassembly fustration

since we're in the topic, help me out.

My first VZ58 was a #####. I'm curious if this is normal for all CZ/VZ owners....

The bolt was impossible to take out and worse to put in. Its liek if the tolerance were too tight and it would just go back in by a hair. I had to fight with it for a good 10min just to get it back together.

Is this normal? Is there a trick I'm not aware of? Or did I have a lemon. The first day I got it the rifle did not fire... the firing pin was broke. A week after I got it back I blew off the dust cover. So I always expected my rifle was ####ED. A gremlin as well... go figure.

The bolts are all touchy to get in. If you try to force it, it'll never go. Just use the Force and it will drop right in.

How did you manage to blow the receiver cover off?

Try pointing your barrel down. When you install your carrier group it will force your bolt forward. This is the correct position of the bolt to install into the receiver.

I guess I just need more practice, the force is with us.

As for the dust cover, heck if I know. I was firing non stop awesomeness till I hit about 800 round and it just cracked and flew right off. It was delicious. Marstar sold me a new one for 35$ IIRC.

This does make things easier... lets just say I wouldn't want to be stripping it down in a warzone

I agree that the bolt can be a bit of a B$%ch. the bolt has to be all the way forward for it and the bolt carrier to be installed. try to install the bolt carrier without the bolt in it to see if it is still tight and that its not just human error. if its still tight sand the parts that bind. i would assume you are just having trouble with keeping the bolt in that forward possition while inserting it into the weapon. I had the same trouble with my cz when i first got her. After I became familiar with the feel of it she just slides in no problem every time. Try stripping and assembling it with you eyes closed. this will give you a good idea of what a smooth assembly "feels" like. After practice obviously.

I still cant get my extractor out 2 years later lol, it doesn't just "fall out" when you push in the spring.. Tried everything. So now I just soak the whole thing in Hopps 9 lol.

try putting the bolt in a vise and use your free hand to pull the extractor out .

  1. Find Kroil Oil.
  2. Soak it over night.
  3. Then with compressed air blow as much oil off as possible.
  4. Take Brake Cleaner and then spray the b-jebous out of it.
  5. Take you L shaped cleaning punch and push back the extractor spring.
  6. Then get a pair of needle nose vise grip plyer's and try to wiggle it up wards and out.
If this dosn't help post back here as there are other ways.

Other ways include dynamite lol? Ill try that thanks
