I was just at Epps and saw a new rifle they just got in. Didn't have time to give it a real good look, but basically it was an 858, but NOT a CZ. Said something like "Czech Small Arms" on the box, nowhere anything that said CZ on the packaging or rifle. The rifle itself had 858 receiver, barrel etc. all painted black as opposed to grey. The rifle was fitted with all black synthetic furniture including a fixed skeletal butt stock. Looked like it came with a black nylon sling and several smoked lexan 5/30 (5/25?) mags. Didn't notice a bayo or anything else in the box. It's chambered in .223 and priced at $995. This might be old news, but it's the first time I had seen or heard of such a thing.

I'll pass until we can get cheap milsurp ammo(you know, when hell freezes over)
Looks pretty cool, I just can't afford to shoot it....:ar15:

Sportsmens's Den in Red Deer has 500 rounds 55 grain zinc coated caseings for 200.00. I shot a couple hundred rounds through my SAN and it was the cats ass. I'm buying a few thousand rounds.

Sounds an awful lot like Wolf brand ammo manufactured in Russia, which is NOT on the list of authorized explosives and never has been. That makes it illegal to possess or import which means it was smuggled into the country. Sure hope retailers aren't after .223 sales that badly; ERD does not fool around.

Jump to conclusions much?

It's true... I called both places. Unfortunately the shipping fee's kill the deal for anyone not living close to either shop.

:(

i paid $30 shipping for 1000 rds from SFRC to vancouver, at the time it was cheaper than buying local . it would be a different story if it was czech surplus.

SFRC is one of the only places which is able to give you a shipping rate online without ordering.

AND, their rates are very good. Just paid $42 to BC for 2,000 rounds of 9mm.

I am pretty sure that others could do that too if they wanted more business.
