Are there any Marlin 1895SBL's in Canada right now??

This is a stainless 45/70 with 6 shot magazine, and a scout scope rail with ghost ring sights.

Cabela's is supposed to have 20 GBL's coming sometime in the future. I have had one on order from them for about two months. Trying to be patient !!!

Yeah, I just checked...the one in my safe is still there!;)

Throttle Monkey, there was a GBL at Williams' Arms as of Saturday.

Try Lebarons ? Everywhere right now in Canada there seems to be a shortage of new Marlin rifles. Everyone seem to get the 1st bunch in May/June/July of this year. I checked Epps out on the weekend and they got 2 336bl's in last week and sold them that day. That was it for BL rifles for them right now. Every where else nothing. I'm guessing the change over did slow production down or stop it. Because over on the Marlin Owners fourm there seems to be a shortage in the US of BL rifles. So chance might be slim this year you'll see any BL rifles in Canada. Keep your fingers crossed they might come in, but with what there saying on there we might see any till next spring. This whole plant closeing in the US has really got Marlin out of whack this year.

Picked up a beautiful 1895SBL on EE a few weeks back. Must be quick though... I got lucky and was able to grab it less than 30min after it was posted.

Gravel agency supposedly only has 12 on order from rem. wholesale as a chain has something like 150 on order but when they show up is anybodys guess

well kids i work at WSS in langley and we just got 5 in. there not in the books yet so they wont be on the shelf for a few days and they wont last long. so if anyone is still interested come on in and put your name down and we'll try and save one for ya..

Do they have JM or REP stamped on the Barrels???;)

I would caution anyone thinking about picking up the latest run of GBL and SBLs to handle them first. I was at WSS and went through 3 of the SBLs to find one without some major fault...front sight mount off centre, unfinished lever that was sharp, major gap on the wood stock as it mounts to the receiver. One had the sight rail offcentred so much and the dovetail so forced that I doubt you could fix it. One had the loading port on the side misaligned so it was making contact on the receiver making it near impossible to load.

Reference the GBLs, fit and finish not the best and varying wildly from gun to gun. The nasty dovetail from using the guidegun barrel is not pretty. Could they have not at least provided a wedge or something to clean it up?

Disappointed to say the least. Might be worth the wait to let the Rem factory get their act together....

Thanks for the heads up!

What's a forced dovetail?

And why is the dovetail nasty from using the guide gun barrel?

There is still some "Good" GBL's & SBL's out there to be had!!
I'd much sooner find one that was made at NH, rather then wait for remington to get there act together.

Read this thread earlier and decied to head to Chilliwack Dart and Tackle to see if they have an SBL, they just got one ten minutes earlier. After a brief argument between staff about where I was on the list, it was determined I was second in line.

They made a call to the guy first in line and he didn't want it!

It's mine!!!
