Wearing it's new skin - my CZ858 camo job.

Looks really good. If I buy a CZ 858, it will be used for hunting, and if I copied your paintjob it sure would look more like a hunting gun.

What kind of scope is that? I could'nt imagine painting a $500 Leupold.

"jeebus what on earth did you do to that CZ?!?! you ruined it!!!"....

There ya go. :D Happy?
Seriously though very nice job. So how did you add the texture to the front grip?

Finally a realist...;) haha The lower hand guard, and the pistol grip had texture added via spray on speckled stone effect (walmart, spray can). It dries hard and it's nice and rough. perfect grip, and costs a few bucks, lasts for many applications if used for firearms :)

heh thanks!

I am actually in the midst of trying to buy/transfer a Rem 870 super mag this week...it's synth black, so you guys just know that I will be painting that one too!...stay tuned, I will post it eventually, I am going to go for a cornfield/grassland camo on it, a little more khaki/yellow than the CZ, brighter too.

Now, if only the guy would come back from his business trip so we can get the transaction going!

So was there a method to your paint job? You should post a thread on how to do a cammo job like that :D

You know, maybe I will, but I am afraid that then it will lose it's appeal! haha. So far, I am the only one with a cool CZ like this (that I know of).

I DID provide one CGNer with the tools to do it (he inquired as to how I did it, and I explained).

Maybe I should share with everyone, but I regret not taking pictures in the process.

If someone wants to donate a stock or gun locally for me to paint (you'll get it back if it's a gun... unless I really like it. Then I may screen calls and pretend to not be home haha), I would not mind doing it again just to show how I did it but with pics or a video this time!

EDIT: Actually, I WOULD paint someones gun for them (and post the process), in exchange for the access to some hunting land for geese or deer(deer now during the gun season), or for them taking me out for some goose hunting, or for deer hunting in the next week and a half, since the season for guns just opened. I really want to shoot a buck and get some deer meat. (been wanting to do it for years now, same with geese).

So I would paint a rifle (and post it up on here too with video/pics), in exchange for Hunting land or a hunting trip :) hehe.

Killer looking 858, well done !!

Im curious though, did you use a clear coat after the camo job? Any idea how the paint will stand up to heat?

Not quite sure, I am still trying to find time to get out to shoot it after the paintjob. I am pretty sure it will be ok, since it's Krylon camo and I have heard good things about it.

I did not use a clear coat, in order to have the flatest finish possible. Shine = death lool.

Could you keep us updated? I'd love to do a similar paint scheme on a rifle and would like to know how it'll hold up.

There is matte finish clear coat ya know :p
