I think my next 1911 is going to be a SA TRP but I don't know where to get one in Canada, any idea who imports Springfield Armory?
If anyone has one let me know how good or bad they are. From what I've read so far they seem great.

I like mine

Purchased in the US

How did you get from the States? and How long did it take?
I will try calling P&D today and see if they can help too.

Went to the store in the US, put in a deposit, waited for the paper work to be done, then went to pick up

about 4 weeks for the paper work, and 3 weeks for the pistol to arrive at the store from the time they ordered from SA, they had one in the display case, however I wanted brand new, and not handled by other customers.

I called P&D they don't think they can get one. I am trying one more place otherwise I might be driving to the states for one.

you will need to find a place that will do all the paperwork for you, well the export part, the import you can do on your own if you wish. Call around first to see who can do this for you, before you drive around and find it not worth getting done, or not being able to get done.

Prophet River Firearms in Lloydminster, AB will import any pistol (or legal firearm) you want to order from a dealer in the US. Clayton Smiley is the owner and will do all the paperwork for you.

Just purchase your pistol from a dealer in the US and they will ship it to Prophet River's FFL dealer in Montana who will in turn ship it to Prophet River who in turn will ship it to you, for a small (about $300) charge of course. Be prepared to wait 5-6 months but it's worth it as you can probably save $400-$600 on the type of gun you want.

Which store in the US did you go to? Didn't realize you can purchase a gun in the US and the dealer there will do all the paper work, and then you can go and pick it up and bring it back to Canada without using the services of a Canadian importer.
