NightForce (which one?)

I have that scope on my 22 (5.5-22x56 NF) anschutz 22 lr, and use it for 50 yards, but on a battle rifle you need much bigger field of view and your targets are not the holes in the buttons. Speed of target acquisition with 22x is not all that quick.

Oh ..yeah I am not on the battle feild or practicing..I see what you mean..it would make it harder..

I just want to add:

Don't be put off by the difference in prices and features. You're buying a two grand scope give or take- What's another hundred here or there? A Nightforce will last you your lifetime after all. So definitely pay for the Zero Stop feature. If you like the Mil math, pay for the upgrade for Mil/Mil. Choose the reticle you like best and if it takes an extra couple of weeks so be it. New High Speed turrets? Why not, if you like long long range- but it doesn't sound like you do.

Also, take your time looking at the different reticles Nightforce offers. I think this is one of the top reasons NF are so popular- So many choices. Reticles are personal and what works for another might not work for you.

Like you I love the high magnification for target shooting, makes it a pure pleasure, but dang gophers are hard to find at 30 power, by the time you do find them they've reproduced

? Is he cheaper?? Or just dealer preference?

I am guessing Pricing is pretty much the same across the board. Or is it?

The last time around buying a Nightforce scope this year was pretty frustrating. Three sponsoring suppliers on this site made committments and then failed on them.

One of them I actually paid in advance for the scope and then they forgot to order it. They told me two to three months, after 10 weeks I called them to check in and found they had not ordered it yet.

After the misinformation and failed committments I got the only Nightforce dealers I will deal with going forward are Hirsch and ATRS.

That sucks, at least you still have a good scope and good guys sell them. Not every guy in retail is mistake proof.
