Does anyone know where in canada (prefered) or a place in the states that
that would sell me a hand with the spring for a colt 1895 revolver .
maybe you have a spare you want to sell ?
cheers
i just looked at Numrich and the part cost is $30.97 but the shipping is a killer at $32 that's why i'd prefer a place in canada i tried western gun parts but they don't have any . i also emailled colt parts.com and waiting to hear back from them i hope their shipping cost is better .i'm still holding out for a CGN'er to come through . i'd like to make one but i don't want to repeat the mistake that's already been done .the reason i need one is the one that's in there is a fix-up weak soldered job and just won't advance the cylindre unless the gun is pointed straight down and it also looks like a bi*ch to make a good functionnal one .
Well, since the original was held in place by friction (and the base of the spring has a nub) you might be able to remove the solder and spring and then insert another spring. I added a drop of JB weld to hold my spring since I didn't want to bother making the little nub that holds the spring from twisting loose. Used a very thin clock spring that was hand filed for width and thickness.
I wonder if you could use part of an old concrete Trowel "idea from Dingus", its pretty thin and very springy, if you cut out a piece to size of course.
O ya... and watch out witch one you buy... there is 2 different ones they used on the colts 1892 (also the ones from a 1889 are NOT the same but can be made to work)
