Newbie from NL. Advice?

Hey folks,

I just sent away for my PAL restricted permit, and I'm waiting with impatience for my license to come. I'm thinking about getting a handgun for target shooting that would be easy to use for me (low recoil). I see a .22 made by Norinco online and it is cheap and uses .22lr ammo. Seems like a good deal to me. I'd love to hear what anyone with experience with .22s has to say about this or any other small handgun.

If you want to shoot 22, the Rugers MK II or III are hard to beat. Good solid guns. From what I hear, the Brownings are good as well, never shot one of those personaly though. I have a MkIII hunter and it is insanely accurate, and nice to shoot. A little bit of a pain to clean though.

hey, how are ya gettin' on? i wouldnt recommend a norinco because theyre crap. .22 is a great starter pistol and cheap on ammo! cant beat $6.50 for 100 at crappy tire.

Hi Mike, where to in NL?

If you are around St.John's Rod and Gun Club, I could let you try my Ruger II/45.
That gun has a more moderate handle angle to mimic 1911 .45 pistol, hence 45 in model #.
It is a beautiful handgun, extremely well crafted. I own a couple of Chineese guns also,
quality of the Ruger is way better.
Caliber is .22LR, and you also could get speed loader, makes mag loading a breeze.
555 rounds of Wal-Mart brand ammo with a couple of dedicated individuals at hand only lasts 2-3 hours.
