$129.95 Norinco 780 Homeland Security 12ga 14" Barrel

Just received mine,
All I can say is: Ryan, THANKS!

Funky looking little beast, and it'll be fun to work on it to complete the finishing process on some edges, etc. :)

Lou, can you offer any insight here? Just how "870" is this shotgun? We've learned 870 stocks aren't compatible, nor are barrels. But how about innards? The issue that worries people is feeding, and if the innards aren't compatible, nor any good in factory trim, these little shotguns will be a lot of frustration....

I started shipping them Monday and I have another stack to go out tomorrow. More are arriving tomorrow and once I fire them they will begin shipping. That should take care of MOST of the back orders. Another 50 will be arriving next week as well.

I should be able to do a good tear down and cleaning tomorrow evening, I'll try to share what I can figure out. Mind you, I'm not the most knowledgeable 870 dude...

Ok, here's the little toy.

Took it apart to clean the cosmo (or whatever thick oil / grease) off:

Here are the bolt parts:

And here it is after oiling and reassembly:

From what I can see, the "slidearm extensions" may be a weakness, the way the bolt sits between both of them; but that's just a guess from my visual inspection and limited knowledge. As it should be expected, metal parts show machining marks, very little was done to smooth them out (except the surfaces that are on the outside). It's not smooth when cycling, again as expected. Still, I think it's ok for a $130 gun! ;)

Can't wait to try to shoot 100 rounds through it, see if it still works after that; and, maybe, if it becomes smoother to operate! (I can hope, can't I?)

Thanks for the review. The second skid of them arrived today. I'll start testign them tomorrow and shipping.

I'll add that the slide arm tube's edges were causing light scratching on the magazine. I used a dremel with steel brush attachment and smoothed the edges of the slide tube, much better.

This is just about the coolest thing since the DAC 394 and the $99. M213!

Two months from now, Bubba-Krylon'd versions will be going for $250.
