Deletion of VC

Hey John in BC, I worked the Saturday at the bc provincials at the standards stages in the RCMP bay and I watched lots of good shooters.. not great ones.. but pretty talented people blow both stages by trying to shoot faster than their ability. The guys that got through it were the masters of pistols that could make all the shots and the guys that did 6 of 12 properly aimed and got good marks on them. Lots of the guys that tried to do 6 and reload, 6 hit less than 6 in 10 seconds.

I already knew because it's part of Nicks training, but it was fun to watch. Actually, it was good, cause I was a taper. 6, reload, 6 in 10 seconds at 25 M doesn't use much tape.

Hi Ryan
Yes I remember those Standards, I did okay on them actually :)

I just wonder what will be used as a classifier for National and International events. Whether we like ICS or not something is necessary to classify shooters.

At the IPSC BC AGM we passed a motion to include ICS stages in every Qualifier because of this very problem.

Now what?

VC and ICS

Now what??....hopefully the rest of the Provinces will follow suit and include ICS stages in their Qualifiers.....it will make a good database not only to rank Provincially but Nationally if everyone gets on the bandwagon

The motion that was passed wasn't to include an ICS stage in every Qualifier. That would be too much of an expense to force onto clubs.

The motion was to include 2 ICS stages in the Provincials AND to have the Provincials submitted as a classifier match.

Since submitting the ICS stages adds on to the match fees, it starts to push the cost of a Qualifier up. At least with the Provincials, where there is no set match fee, and the cost is generally higher, the additional $3 doesn't amount to a significant increase in the match fee.

In Alberta we usually have double qualifiers in the summer. when we do ICS stages we try to have two each day since you can submit up to 4 stages for the $3 US. our handy dandy stats guy has written a program to strip the ICS Stages out of the match for submission. Don't ask, it is way to much geek for me to understand.

My mistake...must have been the alcohol :)

All the same....an extra $3???? With the money I already spend on guns gear and travel I would be perfectly happy to spend it to be properly ranked - and have everyone else ranked as well.
