Hey Guys...

To any of you guys who know FAL rifles, I am trying to take apart an L1A1 for a buddy, and I can't get the locking shoulder pin out (the pin that is round on one end and oblong on the other) I tried hammering it out with a punch and pressing it out with a press...am I missing something?

Just so it's clear what I am referring to...

Thanks

Ok,

The locking shoulder is designed to go in, and basically, stay in for the life of the gun.

It CAN be replaced, but as far as I know, that's a depot level repair.

Is there a particular reason you want the locking shoulder out??

They need to be replaced to adjust headspace. They are a tight interference fit, so if you applied sufficient pressure it should move. However, some CA guns may have had things welded into place and the pin may be blocked . If everything looks clear, try a little heat first.
