yea this has been discussed before, if they do come they will likely be prohib or restricted, unless they make a completely different upper that wont accept a full auto lower i would think. but a non-res one of these babies would be a dream!

It needs to be non-res, under 2 G's, and take the LAR-15 magazines. Then it would sell like ice in hell!!!

i completely agree, preferrably around a grand but we all know thats impossible... i think imma go get an su 16 if they can be non-res and customize that puppy for a bout a grand. the su 16 takes lar 15 mags.

looks like a xcr or the fn scar but with proprietary mags. if they could be had under a grand i'm sure they would sell

Taken from the Modern Firearms & Ammunition site

Feed is from detachable box magazines, which are inserted into detachable magazine housing. In standard configuration, the CZ 805 will use proprietary 5.56x45 caliber 30-round magazines made of translucent polymer. Other magazine housings will allow use of STANAG or HK G36 5.56mm magazines, as well as various 7.62x39 and 6.8x43 magazines.

All they have to do is make a semi-auto only version. I don't think anyone here thinks a select fire version would be anything but prohibited.

yea but im saying like the ar, if it can accept a select fire lower reguarless of whether or not its there in the first place, it will probably be restricted wont it?

Well, select fire lowers would NOT be readily available to the Canadian public. If they were, we wouldn't have to worry about it being restricted - it'd be prohibited.

I don't even know how you could have come up with that piece of wisdom.

All AR15 uppers can accept a select-fire lower, interchangeability is the entire point of the design. This has nothing to do with the classification. If this CZ is made semi-auto only, it will be non-restricted if the barrel is over 18.5 inches.

Because the design existed at the time that they were prohibiting military looking firearms. They originally were destined for the prohib list, but the DCRA made a case for civilian use of the AR design in service rifle matches, since the C7 is our military's current issue rifle. Since they decided not to prohibit, they restricted instead.
