Good ballistic Calculator

I have yet to meet a programmer who shoots. Never mind a programmer who is a ballistics engineer. Mind you, I've yet to meet a programmer who can do much of anything that's practical.

Was'nt there one who won the governors generals award for Target Rifle last year;)

There was a programmer on the firing line shooting in his lane. The butt crew wasn't pulling down his target after he fired, to report his hit. This happened a couple of times. The programmer thought this unusual, so he put the tip of his finger over the muzzle and fired. Blew the tip right off. He had the firing point officer radio down to the butts.... "problem must be at your end, leaving here fine."

That's good....:D

I have yet to find a balistic report that is truly useful for hunting.
Let me explain...
Every balistic report generated by these programs tells you the drop, wind, remaining velocity etc at incrental distances such as every 25, 50 or 100 yards. I see this as a short sighted idea because my scope does not index in 25 yard increments. It indexes in .25 MOA increments. I want to see a balistic report that tells me what distance I am zero for each scope click.

+.25 MOA = 122 yards
+ .5 MOA = 156 yards
+.75 MOA = 186 yards
etc
etc

Same for wind at X MPH
5 mph
.25 MOA = 162 yards
.5 MOA = 278 yards
.75 MOA = 351 yards
etc etc

This I would be happy to pay for.

Bryan Litz, who's not really a programmer but has made some formulas from his practical tests' results, and JBM uses some of his formulas.

About an hours's work. You realise how many scope clicks you go through from 0 yards to 1 yard? Be careful what you wish for :).

This is today's build, you can't have it yet. It starts at 30 yards, 1 yard is a lot of clicks!
Edit: Now on sale! It starts at 5 yards now for smallbore fans. You can arrange by 1/10 Mil, moa, 1/2 moa,1/4 moa,1/8 moa or a custom fraction of angle.

I have never met Sunray, it is true.

Bravo kind sir!
Perfect!
You are a man to be respected.

Yes I certainly do...
All of them,
and that will get you out just past 1000 yards for most cartridges.

If you have an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, BulletFlight by KAC is hard to beat. I nailed a coyote at 700 yards while gopher shooting just by punching in the data. BANG flop.
