Is there any Non-Res "black" rifles under $1000 ??

I was going to suggest that, I have one and I love it. It's not quite as "black" as an AR or a XCR and it definitively shows it's eastern bloc heritage when it comes to ejection (straight up!), mag changes (gotta rock it like an AK) and optics mounting (there is a rail on the left side of the receiver) but those aren't minuses just things to get used to if you're used to an ar-15 like gun. It has a good trigger too IMHO, smooth constant pull until it goes BANG.

I'm not 100% convinced about the stock plastic mags, they are beefy, seem solid and lock up tight though, it might just be because I'm used to AR mags.

There's going to be an adapter to take ar15 mags too.

Is AR mag adapter for sure... how do you know that?

Yeah, I am hoping it was a freak occurance. I am looking forward to the next range trip to make sure though. I am wondering if the humidity had something to do with the Fail to Extract or maybe I should have cleaned it a little better once I brought it back from the store!

I use my 858 in much colder weather than that... works great!

Does the VZ have the same scoping problems as the CZ 858 ? Kind of looks like it. That is what has turned me off of the CZ.

Over the action weaver you have:

Russian style scopes 4 to 8x:

If you want an AR stock there's also:

If you want a forward mounted optic:

There's also a plastic one from FAB defense available @ wolverine and other places.

I have tested none of these and I'm currently debating which to buy for myself but they all are from reputable CGN dealers...

It all depends on the type of shooting you want to do.

I don't think that the CZ/VZ rifles are my cup of tea. I would prefer a more modern looking gun that comes with rails already like a Kel Tec.

I will just wait it out and hopefully a SU16 will be exported to Canada soon. Should be under a $1000

In advance, welcome to Kanada. Just dont expect to stay for long. It will drive you up the wall with all of the Liberal BS that gets shoved in your face everytime you turn your TV on.

LOL...my wife is a Vancouverite, and when I visit I love the city. I just have the option of keeping my rugers and soon to be purchased FAL SA58 (actually gonna get two within the next 4 months) in Blaine/Bellingham and keep my Chinese made M1As and soon to be purchased Robinson Arms XCRs (.223) in Canada.

I'll have the best of both worlds.

thanks...and with THIS latest bit of news, i WILL keep my rugers on the u.s. side.

hey, i got a question: what if i have the telescoping/folding stock welded in the longest position (that's how i'd fire it anyway). would that be eligible for exporting from the u.s.?
