Sweet rigs! I love what you did with the 22-250. The more I read these threads the more I am insprired to do the same myself!

How do you like the Vortex scope? I have the same one on my 25-06, it really lets me reach out there to touch those far off yotes!

Don't know about the Vortex yet, I just picked it up yesterday and mounted today. But just from handling it I think it is going to be a great scope, better then my Falcon. Haven't shot that rig at all yet, going to work up some rounds tonight and if weather is ok tomorrow take it for a spin.

Where in Ontario did you get it? Just curious.

Just curious...no offense and I understand that there is a "fun" part behind building your own stuff but...

Is this rifle any better than a new $1500 rifle? I don't know anything about custom rifles, but I know people buying $10,000 cars and putting $25,000 of mods on them. Personally, I'd rather have a $35,000 car.

Sounds similar but I might be wrong.

No offense taken. Well to answer that question simply, yes it is better:D
On the 10FCP I only have $1450 into it plus I sold the old .308 barrel so even less then that and I have to show for under $1500 a Select match barrel with a twist I wanted and in a caliber that is not offered in this rifle, also a bedded action and bolt timed.

Now I have not shot it yet but I am almost certain it will shoot better then a $1500 factory rifle off the self;)

The biggest reason I did the second one is because I wanted a smaller caliber heavy barreled rifle for shooting coyotes in Souther Ontario(.275 cal limit) that will also be a tack driver.

Unfortunately today, most expensive factory rifles still use the same barrels and assembly of their lowest cost product. A few feature or parts change is about all you get for the upcharge.

That is why so many customs start with a basic factory rifle and build on with better parts. The most critical being the barrel.

Using the car analogy, you have spent $35000 to hotrod a less expensive car but it now performs like a car at least twice as expensive. A car off the lot at $35000 is not even close in performance.

PS great pics.

For $25000, I could easily get you doing a 12 second quarter mile and handling like a rally champ in your $10k car. Reliably and consistently. You'd have to spend a hundred grand to get that kind of performance out of a factory car.

Same thing with guns. For some people the priority is looking pretty and no effort. For some, they want the max Bang for the Buck. Custom builds are the only way to get the second.
