Differences between the Norinco 1911's?

looking to buy my first 1911... found some great deals on marstar... but not sure which one to get because i dont know the differences... i know that they have 2 calibres... .45 acp and 9mm... im kind of leaning towards 9mm because the ammo is cheaper... as i will be buying two of the same 1911 so i can dual wield them. lol.. i also want 10 rounds capacity... but i read somewhere about feeding issues... has anyone expirienced that??

i have read somewhere that the USGI model is a good one... but i couldnt find any info on what the usgi model is or why it may be better or what sets these handguns apart

which one do you guys think is for me?
i am just a target shooter.. new to the shooting scene... i have rifles and shotguns but this is my first handgun purchase cou:

NP-30N Norinco 'High Cap. 45' .45 ACP 10 rds. 127mm Nickel

but still it would be nice to know the differences between all of them... any mechanical differences... the cosmetic differences i already know
 
All the 1911A1 will be dimentionally the same and standard 1911 will interchange.

The NP-30 will be wider and many parts will not interchage with standard 1911 parts.

Single stack v.s. double stack

If you are looking for 9mm 1911, wait until December for their Norinco shipment , Marstar may able to get a whole boat of Np-29 for you to pick. This NP-29 to be the best buy of 9mm handgun in the planet. as for a .45, their sport model look pretty neat.

FWIW.

The NP-30 and NP-30N are not the same, even though they look outwardly identical apart from the nickel plating on the NP-30N.

The NP-30N has the firing pin block system used in the Colt series 80 pistols.
The NP-30 has no such firing pin block.
 
i have the `sport`model the description should be there, FLGR, skeleton trigger and hammer, beavertail, forward slide serrations etc. Best bang for your buck no pun intended. mine is wicked accurate too and so far utterly reliable. the magazines however are an issue you will be needed to budget for new mags.
 
Unless you have very large hands, the hi-cap model is a non-starter. Also, the single stack models are 99% interchangeble parts with all the Colt after market parts.

The Sport 1911 in 45 is a very nice gun. I am waiting to buy a pair of the 9mm models.

Just buy some quality mags for it.
 
I had issures with the factory mags the first time out, but my "1911 Mentor" scored me a spare quality mag. Next range trip got the feed lips on the Norc mags tweaked and they function without a hiccup now.
