Sig Mosquito Haters WTF?????? I have no complaints!!!!!

Had one, but sold it almost a year ago. Had the common ammo-sensitive issues until settling into a routine with CCI (and the light spring). Sport model with the weight, had the screw loosen off a couple times. My only real complaint is the trigger, which had about a mile of travel. For that reason, I'd say it is a poor choice for introducing a new shooter. The other thing was its scaled-down grip, which was a bit too small for me. Not the gun's fault, but it wasn't working out for me. I hope its still working for the gunnut who bought it from me, never heard about slide cracking issues until recently. I probably wouldn't have run Stingers with the light spring if I had, but it was the best way to make it run consistently.
 
Sigs are usually quality product and should have made a better .22 than the mosquito. I own a S&W 2206 wich was considered a bad .22 and never had any problem with it. Maybe the quality differs from one to another. I also own a GSG1911 and it works fine. But considering all the bad comments about sigs...Ill pass!
 
I think I would go with the GSG 1911 if I had to choose between them now, but so far my mosquito is going strong, hardly ever jams now with any ammo
 
According to one of my old shooting buddies, whom I barely get to see today, he got a Sig Mosquito very cheap. He was quite excited with it, until one day at the shooting range the front par of the slide just feel in front of the shooting line, leaving the rear part of it on the gun! Next time I see him, I'll ask if he still has it and if I could take pics of it.

I don't think I'd ever get one for myself.
 
I'm not going to read this whole forum but if you read anything more recently, the problems were from when it was released and they had bugs to work out. They have probably fixed them by now, also I've heard that for some people they just had to really work them in before it started to work.

I got one when they first came out and I couldnt get through a magazine without at least 4-5 malfunctions... so I traded up and got the P226 and never looked back :D
 
My friend Sandro bought one and it was a really bad. After 50 shots start feeding problems, then the hammer strike shells very lightly cousing lot's of missfire. I got Baikal margolin 22lr and never had a problem.
 
Holy thread resurrection, Batman!!!! As stated in the early hours of this thread mine was a pos. Glad for those who have ones that run well and are happy with them.....

I understand that "the problems were from when it was released and they had bugs to work out" but SIG should have not market it before all the bugs were fixed. GSG on the other end is relatively new with no big issues...I would expect more from Sig...at that price anyway.
Ruger has some great .22 but its nice to have the feel of a "real" handgun. P226 is king...too bad you have to spend more on ammo.
