I consider myself very lucky to have served in Pet with that unit.
When I was given a choice of my next posting at Calgary: Germany or the Airborne, I had already been to West Germany for a REFORGER exercise in the fall of 1980.
So it was a no-brainer to choose which posting I wanted with Basic Para just completed. (winter of 1985)
Looking back in hindsight, in 1993 our European bases closed permanently and two years later the Airborne is sadly disbanded.
Thankfully we have CSOR and JTF and an Army full of operational tour experience via South Asia. Soldier on fellas!! Ex Coelis!!!
