So I saw a CZ Woodcock deluxe for sale (used) and it is in my budget. My problem is, I know nothing about these guns? Is it worth owning? I plan on using it for skeet and bird hunting. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these and if they might want to share some of it. Good and bad!

I did learn that they are made in Turkey. Other than that, I know nothing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I own a Bobwhite that has been run through the mill in the last year and has stood up with no problems.
I can't speak to the Woodcock myself, but has a friend who owns one , shoots trap with it every other weekend or so, and hunts with it.
Hhe will never sell it!
The CZ's get bashed regularly over on shotgunworld.com, but there is also a "I love my Huglu " forum there and the opinions of those guys is completley different - some own more than 5 CZ shotguns and have no problems with them!
If you like it, buy it.

I was going to point out what catnthehatt mentioned about shotgunworld too , but see posts here as well.
I have seen some of his pictures of his Pretty 28gauge and the birds he has harvested with the collection of CZs'.
He has shut up a few detractors who are computer chair experts with his fine collection and fair reporting of events, he has little need to embellish on his abilities and his writing of firearm results.
Either you like them and they fit or they don't.
It's the old Ford, Chevy, Dodge story all over again , which is better ?

Never owned one but know a few guys who do, they like them. I've looked them over pretty closely and they seem surprisingly well made, I think a good value for the money.

Both sharptail and straightshooter did an in-depth test on the CZ guns a few years back and they came back basically positive. Perhaps we can see or hear back from one or both on what has been the experience in the intervening time frame.
All this said, it may be worth looking into the price of a used Beretta, Browning, SKB, etc. These are typically priced a bit higher than the new CZ's.

In the three and a half years since Straightshooter and I posted our review, I have continued to shoot the 28 gauge Bobwhite at both upland game and sporting clays. I am happy to report that the gun has not experienced any failures. She is still tight. The firing pins which were the subject of much internet speculation have remained intact and as new. The black chrome finish on the barrels is still shiny, but the stock now wears a nice little ding from one of nature's nice little booby traps. The gun shows no signs of shooting loose and the fore end is still solid.

To be fair, the gun is not used as much as it used to be (a love affair with another gun cut into the Bobwhite's time). I have lost count of the rounds shot through it, but it is well in excess of 3,000.

The conclusions drawn in our review remain sound. The trigger pull was and still is too heavy. I do wish that the barrels were 2 inches longer and a little thinner walled.

Would I do it all over again? Certainly! A 28 gauge, lightweight and fast handling SxS is just too much fun and the Bobwhite has provided many hours of trouble free enjoyment. I am certain that in the future I will stumble across a better gun that will replace the Bobwhite in the 28 gauge slot. I am equally sure that it will cost me more than the Bobwhite did.

Straightshooter can speak for himself, but to my knowledge his experience with the 20 gauge Bobwhite is similar to mine.

I am thinking of selling my Bobwhite actually, simply because I want a higher end SXS with side locks.
HOWEVER, that is th eonly reason!
That little gun has had as many 7/8oz loads through it as skeet loads, and it is dead dog reliable, as Sharptail stated also.
My triggers are decent on my gun as well, which is a plus.

Can the triggers be improved?
If so by who in canada?

Real basic question...
With 2 triggers and each barrel choked different, one has a quick choice of barrel based on distance right?
