Link to pdf listing clubs in Ontario and a brief description of what is allowed to shoot:

I would rather see a list of clubs with:
1. Rifle range and length
2. Pistol range
3. How many bays
4. Shotgun and which activities
5. Archery
6. Indoor range and what activities
7. Hours of operations
8. What are the rules for using the range, one member only or need of two?

Yeah, good luck with that. Who's going to compile this info?

I guess the clubs should report this info to the CSSA and then they can post it on their site.

Here's what I would add to your list:

9. Contact info
11. Directions (good ones not crappy jpeg map)
10. Link to current membership info (how to become a member)
11. Link to club's site
12. If CSSA feels generous, a user rating, review and comments for each club

A CFS-like document (Canadian Flight Supplement - a listing of all airports and their specs and contacts) wouldn't be that hard to publish. Like Transport Canada, the CDN government, through the CPFO and CFO has all of this information. It could be published annually through the Queens Printer. Probably cost about $35 plus tax and shipping. Come to think of it, this probably already exists in print or on-line, but is restricted to government use.

Failing that, maybe the CSSA can make it a function of their "range operators" web site; should it ever be operationalized.

Just wondering, are there any CSSA executives/officers on this forum and can they comment on this?

Is there a way we can make them aware of this idea if no feedback is received from CSSA?

I'm not a CSSA member yet but I plan on becoming one in the next few months.

There are, but typically they don't comment on issues outside of the political arena. Usually its the regional directors that respond to other issues. Jarlath did in this case. I'd drop him a PM and dialog it with him. He's a great resource.

You could post in their sub-forum on CGN.

I've already started spreadsheet with some of the requested additions. :)

I haven't asked recently about the status of the owners group either, but I will do so again.

So while I'm aware of the question, I still need to pose it to the CSSA and the people who are running the Range Operator's Group.

That is great Jarlath!

Thanks for your effort.

I think cgn should have a sticky with the names of all the gunclubs in canada, members hear could send info and contact names.
Unless you think that will give the Antis that are members hear to much info??

It's missing my club - and it's been around for over 50 years.... :(

Some clubs have told the CSSA to NOT list them. That was with the CSSA's Annual Guide which was literally just an info piece for how to get a license, various disciplines and a club listing.

I couldn't tell you why. Keeping secluded and stagnant is dumb IMHO. All that guarantees is to help dissuade the next generations of shooters...

Ok so just a comment from a club board member the CSSA HAS NO IDEA what they are doing anyways H:S:
