AIA .308 magazines for a M14

I hate to ask the stupid question, but is it 100% that they will work?

I was one of the first to try it several years back, and yep it fired 10 rounds flawlessly.
My first two rifles were an AIA and a M305, purely by accident, and once I got my 5/20 pinned mag for the norinco a light went off upstairs. There were a few guys out there though that were keeping it a pretty good secret, I am pretty sure, but after word got out Marstars spare AIA mags disappeared very quickly. :(

Agreed I'd want 4 this would be a great service rifle load! It really depends on how much though because 5/20's are still decent. just not actually 20 rounds.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you still need to do mag changes based on firing 5x rounds then swapping out at different stages, I think. I guess in theory, if that was the case, you could have 1/2 the total number of mags required and remove replace with another 10x round, shoot half, swap out again with another either full or 1/2 full AIA mag and so on.

Might get confusing though. Of course, I should have gone back to read the course of fire before posting this, but meh, I like going out on a limb. I only bring this up because as I prepare to try service rifle (yes I'm commenting on something I have never actually done:eek:) I was thinking the same thing, but seem to remember the catch was you needed to do a mag change as part of the stage.

I'm more excited about the prospect of ripping off 10x .308 rounds without a reload at the range. I have subscribed to this thread and will jump all over them when they get here.

So has anybody actually tested these in an actual M-14 yet? I'm itching to order some, but I'd hate to find out they didn't work well...

If you've shot your M14 with the 10 round AIA ones, you have tested these ones. The only difference is they are long enough to hold 20 rounds vs. 10. Everything else about them is exactly the same.

I wonder if I used the new twenty round mag destined for my AIA no4 mk4, on a M305, if the added weight of ten extra rounds would the mag still stay in the mag well with the mag not having the notch for the op rod spring guide?.Just wondering as the AIA mag well appears tighter.Could be thinking out loud for no good reason, but I thought I would mention it anyways

Interesting point, and noteworthy. I don't think many (or any) have these mags right now, so some future testing will be required by us.

I have the 10 rd right now and it hasn't been an issue (just tried it a couple of times).I guess we'll see when the big guys get here.

For the record, the price is based on the dealer import, plus my markup. As I am not the importer, I have no control over the price. I am stuck in the same boat.

Markup? MARKUP??? You rotten somonabeetch!!!!! :p

You should be selling these at a loss to get around the second most idiotic law in the Firearms Act!!!:p

Just kidding.

When they come in, I'll probably order a couple for my M305. It'll be great when out target shooting on Crown land. :D

i will order two once they are here thanks

you guys are assuming there will be some for sale when they get here. Im guessing they will all be presold by the time they land in in killercanes shop. early bird gets the worm.

I've tried several different 10 round AIA mags in at least a dozen different chinese m14 type rifles and all functioned without an issue. inserts and detaches from the rifle the same and feeds/functions the same. the major difference is there is no notch cut out for the oprod spring guide to engage the mag at the front like the m14 mags have,
I can't say for 100% that all AIA mags will work in ALL m14 type rifles, but the 10 rounders i've used functioned flawlessly.

question...... will these also have the chromed and polished mag followers seen on standard 10 round AIA mags?
