To Glock or not to Glock?

As far as the trigger goes, and if you are watching your sight like you ought to be, you flat don't notice the weird trigger pull. I guess what I am trying to say simply, and I really believe this it is the man behind the gun and practice, practice, practice. The stock out of the box Glock will shoot many rounds past the average 1911 out of the box and you 1911 lovers like me damn well know it.

The trigger is a simple beast to master. Take up the 3/5 of a inch of slack, squeeze the rest of the 1/4 of an inch to fire, release the trigger enough for reset and reset only(about 1/4 inch) and repeat. It takes discipline and is much different than the 1/8 3.5lbs pull of a tuned 1911, it actually takes a firm grasp of the fundamentals to achieve success.:D

TDC

ETA: Oh, and definitely buy a Glock if you desire a tool. If you want a mantle piece, get a 1911.

Is there some kind of incense-lighting process interjected into the midst of all those trigger calisthenics?....:stirthepot2:

Glocks are great.

After 2years of shooting a Shadow in IDPA and IPSC I'm moving to the G34 for IDPA (and using the Shadow only for IPSC).

In recent testing with the G34, I can safely say it is one of the best shooting pistols I've ever fired. Fast, accurate, reliable and cost effective (the initial purchase, not the ammo consumption..). I concur with the comment that it is the top tier SSP pistol.

If you haven't already done so, get a GSSF membership and get your Glock from Police Ordnance. PO will help you process/expedite the membership.

That's where I got my Glock. They also give a wicked discount to LEO/ Military officers. Really helpful too!

That could be a candidate for a new sig line.... :p

BTW, welcome back to the Glock guru.... ;)

:agree: What he says.

It's just a matter of learning the trigger properly; Focus on the front sight and squeeezzzzzze.

I've always hated glocks. I prefer nice machining and fine tools... for example I love sigs. I respect my beretta. I like the look of a high power. And the feel of a heavy 1911. I hate the way glocks look, I don't like plastic guns... etc etc.

And then I bought one.

It gets more trigger time than anything else I own. Its accurate, its not finicky about ammo, it simply won't fail, I can't seem to get it gummed up, it takes a beating and still looks like ####ing new, it goes bang every freakin time. I still claim to hate glocks. But I shoot mine all the time and love it for what it is.

Not sure if you got your glock yet, if not take a real close look at the CZ P07 Duty, smaller frame than the 17 more like the 19, CZ quality and accuracy out the wazoo
