Tip #1.- Sit down. Amazing enough how them dogs can recognize the shape of a man. Camo/blind is good, but I've found that as long as you don't look like a man standing, they will still come.
Tip #2.-I have been using the circe distress call ($10 at WSS), and had some luck. The ones that I got to come in would hang up a little too far away, (perhaps up close the call doesn't sound realistic?), but I switched to making little kissing/smooching noises on the back of my hand, and that did the trick.
My buddy has an electronic call, and man did that thing work. Like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm just way too cheap to spend that kind of money when, with a little practice, I can get away with less.

I've heard crazier things. I have a friend who downloaded MP3s to his ipod and uses external speakers. He says he gets good results.
But then again, he must be lucky, you should hear how big his fish are that get away!

Nope. Not where I live. I can drive 2 miles away from home, at which point I cross an invisible line, where I can hunt/shoot centerfire, but on my property I can only hunt deer with a bow. No shotgun or ML for deer either.
Shotgun is ok for upland, migratory, predator, etc, but not deer. Just a sharp stick.
It's pretty messed up. The hunting regs are specific for my area, and state that hunting is permitted on Sundays, (upland, migratory, etc), but I may not discharge a firearm on a Sunday.

Yup. The municipality is huge, and unfortunatley, I am right at the edge of the most populated area, so I have to cross to the other side to shoot center fire. I can understand the safety aspect, sort of. There are, on average, 3-4 houses per square mile, and flat land.
I take it in stride though. It still lets me get trigger time with the rimfires, I can hunt birds with a shotgun, and I can still take a deer with a bow. Could be worse...

assume you are in my predicament in the no centerfire zone. I am in Stonewall and only allowed muzzle shotty or bow. Oh well makes it interesting i guess.I
You are even luckier than me. I can't even use ML or shotgun for deer. Just archery.
