.270 for a sniper?

Blah blah blah whatever guys. it seems you all are having a pissing match with each other now. My questions were answered thsi thread can die now. when it comes to longer ranges yes i'm a "newb" however i'm not new to shooting and have been doing it since i was 6 years old. There are so many different classes and aspects to shooting no one can possibly know everything so excuse me for asking questions.

in your original post you asked whether your Savage 110 is a better candidate - I don't know why nobody has said so, but by ALL means YES it IS. Put it in a good stock, screw on a quality barrel, do a trigger job or go aftermarket, good glass, and away you go.

I'm using a 110 action for just this, chambered in 6.5x55 though you have dozens of choices available to you for caliber.

I hear you! Many times I take a beating on this site. I am always wanting to learn even though I know the high risk of getting flamed from asking questions. :p When you filter through the crap on this site you do learn a lot! :cheers:
