whitetail today

I was trying to get my son onto a decent whitetail this weekend...I rattled one in Saturday afternoon that caught him by surprise at 15 yards...deer saw him before he saw deer...deer gets away....son learned a bit about concealment........then Sun morning I rattled in this guy...deer happens to come up my side of the hill we were on...long story short...shot him at about 160 yards with a 150 Ballistic Tip out of the 700 ADL/FS 7 Rem Mag......looks about 140 ish....

Nice deer! And as for rut activity, none spotted in the Ottawa area when I was out Monday Tuesday last week...

Talked to a buddy last night, he shot a buck on Sat and one of the tine was broken off right at the base and it's the longest one too.
I am going out this week for elk and WT. Sooo excited.
