Norinco M4 optics question

Just ordered a Norinco M4 clone from Marstar. Newb question, if I want to go with optics, is there a rail underneath the carry handle or do I have to order one?

If I mount a red dot directly onto the Norinco rail, can I see past the front sight?

The front sight is not a problem when using optics.

Thanks guys. I'm taking my friends sons shooting this Christmas and want to have the M4 set up for it. I just ordered 5 LAR-15 magazines. He's going to pay for half a crate of 5.56.

you can get a rail adaptor that also allows optics to mount to carry handle

The carry handle comes off and gets put on a shelf to never be used again. Then the optic (Aimpoint, Eotech) gets mounted to the rail that is a fixed part of the upper reciever. A better mount with a lower height over bore.

It's a great little inexpensive optic but it won't work on a flat-top AR without a riser.

well I am holding out for the red/green, maybe I should have gone with just red too, it was in stock but I was told the RG would be in by today and shipped next week. We will see.

Hi Geologist...I bought my riser at P&D here in Edmonton. I needed it to mount a Leupold 3-9x40 scope I was trying out.
