I was wondering if anyone has ever had luck shooting the bird shot shells threw the 10/22. It says in the manual to avoid it but im told its cause they cause more jams. anyone got thoughs
I've been thinking of trying some of these out on paper at close-ish range just for the hell of it (with my 10/22). I'll post back if I ever get around to it. I'd kinda like to see this circular pattern the rifling is supposed to cause. That said, does anyone even make a smoothbore .22 any more?

Those #11 or 12 'birdshot' cartridges are the silliest things ever made. Don't ever bother with them.
Waste of cash. They will not cycle and often get stuck in my 1022 chamber as the tip of the case expands. The whole box is still sitting in my gun locker practically unused, and I dont plan on using them any time soon!
I use them in an old BSA bolt repeater for pigeons in my barn.
You need to get within 20 yards or less to drop them consistently.
