10/22 and bird shot cartridges

I've been thinking of trying some of these out on paper at close-ish range just for the hell of it (with my 10/22). I'll post back if I ever get around to it. I'd kinda like to see this circular pattern the rifling is supposed to cause. That said, does anyone even make a smoothbore .22 any more?

Yes remington makes a smoothbore pump action but it costs more than the rifled version and its about $600.....I'd buy a 410 first. Honestly I think you could shoot yourself in the foot and not feel it lol (don't try that though) I can only see one use and that is for varments IN the barn, Rats in the granary, pigeons in the hay mow etc. where you don't want collateral damage and you can corner your target.

Yeaaah, I'm not paying much for something I "just want to try". Good to know it exists, though. I may just buy a box a pump a few through my dad's rifled NAACO .22

I've used them for shooting mice in the barn they won't cycle the action though. I never did pattern them the way I would a shotgun. But they kill the mice!

I've used them with my Ruger Bearcat on balloons, when first introducing youngsters to handgunning. Six busts with six shots is a guarantee to get them hooked. I see no other useful purpose for them.
