Mag modification for Chinese SKS

You could just buy duckbill mags
Would they fit in with little mods to the mag opening? Does anything else need to be done to accept the mags or should they fit relatively easily? I emailed SKSman as well for his advice. He has some nice steel 5 round detachable mags I wouldnt mind. Id love the 40 rounders he has as well but Im sure we all would

He won't ship mags, his aren't pinned so they would just be siezed at the border. You have to buy in Canada. He's also horrible for responding to emails. Duckbill mags fit fine, it's what they're made for. I've got a Russian Tula SKS that I've installed a 5/20 Tapco duckbill mag into, bought it off a vendor here from under $40. It can be removed (with the bolt open) and hand loaded or fed with stripper clips
damntoo late. I was gonna say you CAN order them from sksman I did, but he was out of stock of the 5 rounders. anything larger than 5 rounders would be prohib so you couldn't get them. adam if you want some more mags let me know i'm trying to sell teh ones i have. I'm selling my sks in favour of a VZ.
Zytel is what the magazine is make of "Dupont Nylon", not a brand name of a magazine. The 5 round magazines were sold by Tapco at one time but not made by Tapco. Tapco has since stopped selling the 5 round mags. They had there problems but could be made to work with some mods to them for consistant function. If you stick to Tapco products you will not have any problems. If you really want the 5 round Zytel mags I think SKS man still sells them, but you have been warned.
