So here's the deal, I need to upgrade my weapon light as well as my front grip. I'm not a big fan of a 6 o'clock light mount on an AR, I think I would prefer a top mounted light with a bladder trigger. As for the grip, I'm tired of cheap plastic crap and would prefer aluminum. I do have 3 Fenix TK11 lights and don't mind them but if I need to move to something like sure fire I will.
My budget is about $500.00 per rifle, as I wouldn't mine setting up my benelli M4S90 with the same rig. I would love to see pics of what you guys are running and recommendations. Here's my set up right now, I think it kind of cheapens the rifle. Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions..

another vote for the scout. I run a milennium with an LED, but the extra output of the scout would be nice.

Well, seem silly to have a $$$$ rifle and to throw ####ty stuff on it.

The analogy would be putting crappy tire spinners on a bentley.

Yeah but then what's the point of putting a light on a rifle that's only gonna see the range much less dropping mucho bucks on it.

Doesn't look like that rifle's seen much range time anyway; it's immaculate. :D

Cheap plastic crap? How hard are you on your rifles?
I'm pretty hard on my gear, as I do tactical training with it 4 or 5 times a year.
The other issue with the system I have is that the trigger system for the light is a safety factor. In a high stress situation an operator can confuse their firing hand with their fore grip hand and there is potential for a N/D. And yes I've been in more than a few high stress scenarios to be able to say that with 100% certainty..

Ehem... weapons are illegal in Canada... surely you weren't suggesting your restricted firearms are weapons, you meant to say firearm right? Mr. streetgang from Vancouver??

From the pictures, doesn't look very hard on equipment at all.

What type of training (tactical doesn't mean a whole lot, putting on a black golf shirt and a pair of tan 511 pants can be considered 'tactical'), courses, conditions, days, etc?

As for a light, this one is a little over your $500 budget, but it's only money right? http://www.surefire.com/M952V-MillenniumUniversalWeaponLight

Or, as others have said, the Scout light. I've got the M300A on a 10.3" AR, and the M600C on my SR-15, and probably gonna get another 600C for my SR-25.

There is a group of 12 of us that get together 4 or 5 times a year at a range in southeast B.C. for a 2-3 day event based primarily on The American Confederation of Tactical Shooters rules and guidelines. We strictly use the rules and not the groups philosophies. We are a group of friends who are mostly ex-military, who just enjoy getting dirty and firing off a few thousand rounds together. As for the M600C, how is the battery life on those? I would guess they eat up batteries pretty fast...

I had a look at your suggestion and the M952V looks great for the MR223 and maybe I'll get something different for the Benelli later, now I just need a suggestion on a good fore grip to put it all together. The pic on my original post was when I first purchased my rifle, Its not nearly as shiny anymore......

I've seen these on the EE for around 200 with the LED. The LED at least doubles the battery life. That is how I picked one up. I would avoid paying full price for one of these, as it is mostly just a toy.

In my case, it goes on my home defense carbine and is used sometimes when there is a nightshoot at one of the local ranges.

The website says 2hr battery life, but it of course depends on your use. It's been on my gun for at least 6-8 months, and I haven't changed any batteries yet.

But I also haven't done much low light shooting with the SR-15 or any low light courses.

I'm still on my first set of batteries, too. I generally use it in a momentary fashion, so I have no idea how long its been running. But in occasional use, over a year.
