Hey guys,

I have a Cz 858, currently has a skeleton polymer stock on it.. Looking to get an AR style stock, thinking about get one that folds to the side as well.

I was looking at an all metal version from Zahal .org but it is expensive $300 and don't wanna spend the money and be disappointed...

Also looked at the polymer version(FAB) which is about $130 ... But not Side folding ...

Then I saw a side folding stock adapter made by storm works that fits the 858 and accepts AR stocks. But don't know any info on the adapter itself and woudnt know what AR stock/buffer tube to go with

Looking for reviews on any of the above, suggestions and more suggestions and any tips

Thanks in advance!

alot of AR stocks are, in my opinion really uncomfortable. The magpul stocks are pretty comfortable though, especially with the cheek riser on them

Good friend of mine runs this set up on his vz, he has a side folding stock adapter too but i cant remember which one. Its comfortable and looks good on the gun

Questar sells a AR folding stock mechanism made for .22 AR's. If used in conjunction with one of the VZ stock adapters you'd get what you're looking for. You may want to look at a short adapter.. once you add the folding mech to the adapter you're adding a lot of LOP.

what stock do you have on there?
does the .22 adapter make hold up to 7.62 recoil?

... It's made for .22 AR's because 22 versions have no recoil buffer & Spring. I believe it's made by UTG. Nothing fancy but works. I tossed mine in the parts bin pretty quick because I prefer a very short stock setup. No problem taming the massive recoil caused by the mighty x39 round.

The stock pictured is a CAA stock with adjustable cheek piece.

In this case i dont think you can have your cake and eat it too.

If you're gonna run a AR stock, i would not get a folding hinge on it. Its just too bulky to fold to the side nicely. That coupled with the added bulk and length its a no-go in my mind. Get a Magpul CTR and the NEA inline lo-pro adapter.

If you want the folding ability, go with either the factory folder for a real nice compact package or i think Neit has those ACE stocks with the stormwerkz adapters which work really nice as well. With the Ace stock you will also be inline to the bore i believe.

Thats how i see it.

ahhh ok that makes sense now, thanks for the explaination (i still have a lot to learn about firearms lol)

im the same, i prefer a short stock setup, i might just scrap the side folding as long as it is a short setup.

which setup did u switch to?

It is heavier but also very solid. Stock adjustment is very slick and has presets if you want them. Stock is wider than original stock so I find it difficult to line up the original iron sights. My son is smaller framed than I and says this is not an issue for him. I bought some Troy battle sights which solved this and gave me far better secondary sights. Matches up well with the NEA AR adapter. Rifle feels very solid and great at the range for bench resting.

thanks guys! i think i am going to go with the nea ar adapter and a magpul stock, either the CTR mil spec or the UBR (only thing steering me away from UBR is price point at the moment)

any one have suggestions for what dealers to go through ?

I want to do the same as mine is bone stock.I also find the factory furniture hideous. I like the adjustability in the AR style stocks. Dealers should offer a complete kit for making the swap over to Ar style, butt and foregrip.

The CTR is nice on the NEA adaptor. GP Tactical has the adaptor and stock.

I have been looking at that $300 one that your talking about from Zahal. or g and I think that its a really nice stock, and usually you get what you pay for. Only thing that sucks then is that by the time you spend all of the money in upgrades, you could of bought a nice new AR15. It sure would suck also if you spend the extra $150 for the folding stock, and you figured out that the folding the stock, makes the gun useless as far as accuracy goes. Thats my worry anyways.

Ace stock with a stormwerkz folding adapter.

folders will not affect your accuracy only increase your mobility in vehicles.

Try shooting out the front or rear windows of a compact car with a full size rifle.

Now try it with a folder.

Sold.

It does cost a bit to modernize the CZ/VZ, easy to spend as much or more than the actual rifle cost............but you are literally getting more bang for your buck as I see it. Higher hitting power and excellent priced ammo. Our rifles with our chosen add on's are still generally cheaper than a base Colt AR15 style rifle unless you want to go Norinco. Then you start adding customs parts to the AR, well their parts are just as expensive if not more. I'd love an XCR or perhaps a CZ805 but the cost of those will set you back a few OT shifts. With your chosen custom parts you can easily build a CZ which will be fun to shoot and serve you well in the role it was designed for..
