Dug this out while scouring the pics over at CMMG...

Apparently in the works - drop in conversion. The magazine is a mag adapter at present that allows the insertion of a standard Ruger 10/22 mag. They are in the process of their own High Capacity proprietary magazine... mmmmmm Hook me Up!!!

Mine has already been "neutered" with a match grade barrel... I sighted it in the other day at 25 yards (going boar hunting with it in 10 hours). For what I have into it already, it'd be fun to be able to "plink" away with uber cheap rimfire ammo... saving the good stuff for the local varmint population...

I wonder with the .22 kit installed can it be non-res with the shorter barrel?
If not we need a clone in .22wmr or .17hmr

The original 10" barrel puts the overall length at about 20". So it would still be restricted.

Someone could theoretically use the original 16" barrel, chambered in .22 WMR with full 50 rnd mags and it would be non-restricted. The original overall length of the ps90 is 667mm and the min for non-restricted is 660mm.

Just need the kit and mags to be developed!

Well that has sold me already.

I love my PS90 to death, and I had it rebarreled to non-restricted, so this would be just what the doctor ordered.

5.7 ammo is cool, but there are too many problems with it.

- $0.80 a round
- No reliable source of new manufactured ammo
- Difficult to reload for
- Short Brass life, 2-3 reloadings, and that is if you are able to correctly reapply the laquer coating after tumbling.

My 3k round stash is rapidly dwindling.

If CMMG gets this up and running with any form of hi cap magazine, 30 rounds or more, then I am down for one more or less regardless of cost. (Within reason)

If I can use my Non-restricted PS90 with High capacity magazines firing dirt cheap .22, that conversion will pay itself off within a few visits to the range.

Where did you get the photos on the CMMG site, I looked briefly but didn't find them. I want to send them an email supporting the idea.

Sweet. That finally gave me a shove to register for AR15.com. Gonna comment on that one for sure. Looks good.

If they can figure out a way to make that high capacity magazine work, then that will be the innovation this gun has been waiting for since it's creation. I do wonder how they are planning the magazine to work, such as if they will still have the ramp to turn the rounds 90 degrees in the magazine, or if they are going to simply butcher the magazine and have it stick way out the top.

Yippie for progress!

I actually dug the pictures out of here...

It'll bring you to an Index Link, and the ps90 pictures are towards the bottom of the page... I'm anxious to see this thing if it makes it to production...

What is the rate of twist of the stock barrel, 1:7, 1:9? I would assume it is much faster than ideal for .22. I believe ideal .22 is around 1:16.
