Hey all,

I was playing with my 590A1 tonight and noticed for the first time that after pulling the trigger, if I was holding back on the forend I had to relive a bit of pressure, as in let the forend move forward slightly, in order to get the action to cycle. Is this normal? I just noticed tonight, but maybe it has been this way all along.

Thoughts?

Every pump I've owned so far has had that (including a 590A1), so yeah, it's normal. As TDC said, you can imagine, it'd be a bad thing, if you fired, while pulling on the pump, and the action opened while the pressures were still up.

The recoil will take care of it...I've got an old 870 that you will release when dryfired with rearward pressure on the pump.
