Non-Restricted or Prohibited?

Just buy a barrel that has 6.5 stamped to the side of it.. took a rementon 870 bought a barrel that said made 6.5 on the side slaped it on changed the tubes forend ect and toda a small shoty :p

Full stock on it.. but if I wanted to put a pistol on it then its a restricted and in which case I have 30 days to notify them of the change of class of firearm..

Would putting the PGO on not count as reducing OAL by "other means" ?

"According to the Criminal Code, a restricted firearm is:

a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm;
a semi-automatic, centre-fire rifle or shotgun with a barrel length less than 470 mm (18.5 inches) that is not prohibited;
a rifle or shotgun that can fire when its overall length is reduced by folding, telescoping or some other means to less than 660 mm (26 inches);
any firearm prescribed as restricted (including some long guns)."

As much as I wish this to be legal, I don't want to be the one to 'test the waters'.

The RCMP have agreed that replacing a stock with a commercially available replacement is not altering by any other means. They interpret the text to mean what it was supposed to mean.
 
Is that is writing anywhere?....I can't deny the logic there, I think i might just have to go ahead and make my 8.5 "even more useless" and by useless I mean fun...get ready wrist!.
