Hi,

Contacted PARA about the program and nothing is set up as the previous group order is finnished.

I was advised that I could create a new group order, they are willing to extend the offer as long as I can get a min of 32 pistols ordered, or reasonable close to this.

I am willing to start this up if there is sufficient interest. I am currently deployed right now and a few of my friends here are interested as well.

I am looking to keep the design as per previous editions and in 45ACP.

Who is interested and how many pistols would you want to order.

If I get good numbers I will start this up with PARA.

I really think you missed my point on the thread.

I dont mind waiting 13 months for a unique piece and heavily discounted.

Should I put you down for 1?
 
Why not talk to a quality manufacturer of 1911s? The unique "Canadian" connection no longer exists with Para anyhow. SV or STI or Kimber would probably jump at the chance to make a special run of pistols for CF members. And at least you would get a gun that works.
If you are truly sold on a Para get a delivery date and warranty in writing as part of your contract for the run.

Yeah its unique allright... :HR: A unique P.O.S ... read my post and my problems. Then the other members on this board that counldn't get theres to fire 10 rounds without a malfuction...

have you gone to the Para forum to see all the problems people are having ?

The worst is the Boarder Patrol pistol run. I think Half the people sent theres back... And its the same model as offered to us...

And Price isnt good... its 990 $ to your visa after all the fees...

By a valor... I wish I did... Now I cant even sell this POS because I cant pass on problems to a fellow gunnut...

So 1000$ down the drain thanks to Para...

I have shot SVI, STI, and Kimber a nice email about setting something up. I will post any info on this thread. Hopefully we can get something good set up.
 
Who cares if it is made in Canada? That's the problem with Canadians, as a small nation, we still try to canadianise all our kit....

Para yeah....cool but not, I'm awaiting my 2009 pistol. At this point, I'm not sure I care.
 
Just an idea but an Ed Brown limited "Canadian Forces" model would be cool,they could make it on the special forces model maybe....of course most people would probaly complain it's over priced or over there budget.

I've already posted in the other parallel thread that has been now closed due to no authorization of group buy, but I agree. Keep this in Canada. As a soldier, I can think of no better way to make this purchase more appropriate to the nature of the buy, likely better transparency to the process of the end product, more input listened to by the mfr, better timeline to delivery, no import/export issues... all in all, I see it being a much smoother, better for all parties involved process.

CdnCombatMedic, as always its your baby, you choice.

CdnCombatMedic, I also want to confirm the nature of this buy. Is this intended for CF members/retired members only?

If so/not, could you please post your intent clearly, which will help define your end state so as to filter/include the amount of input to stay on track with your intended order?

I'm not asking for a full set of orders in SMESC and 13/15/17 steps of Battle Procedure, but I think you need to fully define what your objective is here to stay on track and keep the thread as free from the "Good Idea Fairy" as possible.

Mods/Slavex, please feel free (as if you don't alredy) to either support/deny/guide this discussion so people don't get as fed up, and people don't give up on a wonderful idea put forth. Lets enable this, and set it up for success.

I think I've hit my operational planning colloquial limit for the night. :D
 
I have seen zero interest with PARA and have chosen not to do the paradeal.

I have some things in the works with SVI and STI, there will be more to follow once I get approval to start another thread on this topic.

Bit of a problem with NDHQ with the "Canadian Forces" on the pistol as it makes a NDA charge. Working to rectify this.

Listen, I understand you are operational and I'm not trying to rub you the wrong way- I feel your pain, and mean no disrespect to you.

You're thread was locked due to a bunch off topic BS, requests for CF/other elements/retired/people's panties in a twist because there are civilians on here because they feel excluded, and there is no consolidated intent or link to the other thread in your initial post in this thread. I'm simply trying to get this enabled for everyone's sake, and clarity.

I'm not picking on you, I just want this to go smoothy for you. To be honest, I was going to offer you some support on this in a PM for some leg work, if I'm able at all and if you'd entertain that.
