Canadian made lower comparision

So after getting bit by the AR bug my brain is abuzz wth my ground up build to keep the Norc company. Looking at the Dlask lower and the one from ATRS the one made here in Calgary is over twice as much.($250 and $550 respectivley) Any opinions between the two lowers that might justify the price difference? Regardless of caliber I choose in the end(9mm or 6.8spc) my lower will be Canadian made.

I believe the ATRS is a billet aluminum lower and is of much higher quality, fit and finish. With that said the Dlask lower will do just fine.

I have a ATR billet lower, and it is top shelf product.....but I've never seen any lower that wouldn't do the same job.....It's a matter of taste, not really function.

Yes it is Canadian made and the ATRS costs $550.

I think those are the three Canadian made lowers on the market right now. Blue line has some (EDIT: THEY ARE NOT MADE BY DLASK!!)
I'd personally spend the big money on quality BCG and barrel. It is important to have a good lower, but you'll reap greater rewards spending money on the BCG & barrel.

Here is a US made billet lower https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopexd.asp?id=1440&bc=no. So the canadian pricing is not out to lunch. But a machined billet lower doesn't offer any advantage over a forged lower that is then machined if both are done correctly.

BCG = bolt carrier group

Don't buy a mystery one. Get something good like LMT, Colt, or Stag.

ATRS all the way,lower has many great built in features:
Small but effective mag well
Tensioning mech for fit between upper and lower
Textured front on mag well--Service rifle grip?
Enhanced trigger gaurd
Raised area around mag release

Very nice piece indeed,when you add up what it would cost to add all these features to any other lower very reasonable $$$ at 550.

I''m going to use Cadex for my next build. Canadian made means something to me. Have one of Ricks as well. Don't have a Dlask but I don't see him making a bad lower. May have to change that soon too.

0.02 I have a few Dlask lowers and they are fine for recreational use. i agree 110% on BCG and barrell quality.. get the best you can afford.

I love the Maple Leaf on my lowers the best
