I'm looking for a X-Bolt 300 WSM in a plain jane Composite Stalker(Blued/Synthetic). I saw Bass Pro had them on sale for 699 last week, but I missed the sale. I've also seen guys posting that they've bought them recently for a few bucks less. So if anyone knows where one of these units is sitting, with a price of $700 or less, please shoot me a pm.

Thanks in advance.

The best deal on X-Bolts is to stay away from them! :D

SSHHHHHHHHHH your making too much noise!

Absolutly nothing wrong with the X bolts. I bought 2 this spring,
7mm($815.00) & .338($799.00) GREAT guns!
I got one from Italian Sporting Goods Van, B.C.
The other from Tyee Marine and Sporting Goods Campbell river
Those prices sound good seems they have dropped at most places to about $715 to 750 Check out wholesale in your area??

Just picked one up from Travis at Jo Brook, awesome guy to deal with. So my next question for anyone who has one is which size of factory rings should I get? I'm going to mount a VX3 2.5-8x36 on it. I'm wondering if I go with the standard rings(low) and the scope still clears is eye alignment going to be good? Or should I go medium height? Let me know what everyone else is running.

Thanks.

You should go with low rings, 40mm and mediums are plenty high if it was 32mm it would definitely look way too low. I mounted this 40mm Leupold on med rings on my xbolt.

Yep I checked the Browning website, and they recommend the standard(low) rings for scope obj. 44mm, and smaller, on sporter barrel contours. The mediums are recommended for 50mm obj. scopes.

Any reason in particular you went with leupys over the Browning talley ring?

I just changed my scope on my X-bolt 300 WSM. I traded my Swarovski Habicht from my CZ 527 and slid it over to the X-bolt - poor CZ is going to get a 3.5-10x50mm from Prophet River as a replacement... Here are some pics. Medium Leupold Std Mounts (Matte) with 4-12x50mm Scope. It is pretty darn low I would say no more than 2mm of clearance. Hopefully the barrel doesn't whip that much :)

I am very curious to see how she shoots with some 180 grain Accubonds. When this scope was on my CZ it was shooting into a 1/2"...
