Is this a group buy by an individual or by a company?

If you want one Join the big green machine or Make your own CGN one...

Counter-point
So if someone wanted to make a Pistol and say it wasn't allowed to be purchased by Serving Military.....how would that go over? Said member would not be a member for long I bet.

Just a thought.
I agree though with the OP, someone wants to get some pistols made, he can sell them to whomever he wants.

OK, back on topic please...

The more I think of it, the more I like the idea of a gun made by Dlask. Something about the "Made in Canada" just tickle my fancy :)

Even though I know 1911 were designed for the 45acp... I got that itch for a 1911 in 9mm or 40s&w... as an added bonus, brass is cheaper, and so is ammo ;)

If there's a problem/situation about the ARMY/Navy/Airforce logo...

We could always go with the poppy and a meaningful short moto...

Well why don't you tell him that as well!Don't give me a double standard.

I'll try not to sway too much off topic of the pistol

I failed to add in my comment that if the lawful command can be proven to be unlawful, then members of the CF can refuse to obey it, as evidenced by reading section 83 of the National Defence Act:.

What you've written doesn't make much sense. If a command can be proven to be unlawful, it is not lawful ....

You have to be very careful with the way you word things....or the JAG will remind you.

"The Canadian Forces requires its members to obey the lawful commands of superiors. It is not an offence to refuse to obey an unlawful command. Under section 83 of the National Defence Act (NDA), it is an element of the offence of disobeying a lawful command that the command be proven to be lawful. Members of the Canadian Forces are subject to the Criminal Code and would be subject to prosecution for any act of torture or other violation of the provisions of the Criminal Code dealing with cruel or inhuman treatment. An order to inflict torture upon a detainee would be a crime under section 269.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada and is punishable under section 130 of the NDA. Therefore, an order to commit an act of torture which is refused cannot result in a successful prosecution for disobeying a lawful command."

Mea culpa.

As you've quoted parts of the NDA, you'll notice that:

1) It is not an offence to refuse to obey a known unlawful command.
2) It is an offence to disobey a lawful command, which in turn can be proven to be lawful. (accountability after the fact)

45alot,

You seem to use many words, without saying very much on the subject at hand.

The internet is a wonderful place that allows people to interpret only your words, when usually there are many other cues in communication that help people better understand the message being passed.

In person, you may get along just fine with any of us, but the way you've expressed yourself here has not seemed to me to be a very positive contribution.

We've trended away from the OP's intent in this thread.

Please, if you want to discuss this outside this thread, feel free to take it to the PM system.

Jumping back to the subject of the thread....someone posted a nice photo of an old BHP, with the Lend-lease Decal on it. What might people think of having a Maple leaf engraved in the same spot on the front of the pistol grip on these pistols???

I know that CDN Combatmedic is working up a plan, and I look forward to further details.

NS

Yeah I posted the BHP when someone went on about fixed sights being better and made a joke of posting the BHP machined from the slide.

There isn't much in the way of BHP manufacturers, I can't see a huge number of companies we can tap into. 1911s are made by just about anyone and everyone and has the aftermarket support.

I realize everything depends on how many make the buy. Would it be possible to freeze the basic pistol design and then have some options on how it is finished?

I am thinking that after the maker has the basic pistol in his hands, he has to fit sights, safety and slide stop and do some engraving. Would it matter to him which bin of slide stops or sights he reaches into?

The price could be X $ for the pistol and then + or - Y$ for one or two sight options, slide stops, safeties, and engraving options. For engraving, I am thinking that for, say, $50 we could add a land air or sea logo.

Are 9mm and 40 cal pistols identical, except for barrel, bushing and mag? If so, if the basic pistol was 9mm, would a 40 cal option be feasable? I would prefer a 9mm, single stack.

I find double stack mags a bit fat in the hand, and if we can't have the hi cap mag - what's the point?

jesus #### what is wrong with some of you. When I get home I'm handing out infractions for those of you who continued to post crap after being warned.

CDNCombatMedic, please start a new thread with the details you are proposing. Once you get a price we'll have to get group buy approval by GT to go any further. which means you'll need to start talking to him ASAP. (GT being Greentips).
