Been having some troubles with my game cam, it is a higher quality one. Batteries are good, what seems to be happening is I either loose all info on the SD card or it is never recorded.

Snapped two photos as I put in new card last weekend and saw the count on the display. This weekend when switching cards, nothing there. No count on the cam or the SD card when I brought it home.

Just wondering if others experienced this.

For me? With a Primos Truth 60 no pics get recorded below -30 celsius. Above that it works fine with lower battery life at lower temps obviously.

There has been a lot of testing done by guys that build cameras. They have tested about every battery made. Most batteries crap out in the mid -20 c temps. Cameras are not the problem , it is the power supply. Mine just stop working in the real cold temps and when it warms up they start working again.

Just a question. Is it a Spy Point camera? I've sold approx 10-15 at the shop and had to return 7 or 8 of them.

Nope, it is another brand, but I have narrowed it down to some bad SD cards. My PC doesn't even recognize them. The cards recorded great images for one week each then after putting them back out, that was the end of it. Almost like they pooped out after a bit of exposure. I put some other cards in that I know work and it went back to normal.

It is a Bushnell Bone Collector 8mp model.

If it has lithium Polymer batteries I would be concerned. Li-po , lithium Ion batteries are EXTREMELY temp sensitive. It is possible for a huge voltage drop when taking the pictures resulting in damage to the memory card.

The cards may still be fine - you need to format them properly. Also making a box out of styrofoam makes them work better in cold weather. I keep mine out all winter with no problems. Also a solar panel will help to keep the batteries strong.
