Well the final days of hunting season makes me less picky so i tooka little whiletail doe today. there was a HUGE layer of fat on her. she looked real big but wasn't much meat on her, but my tag is filled i'm happy. unfortunately i forgot my camera so no pics. I just thought I'd share. yay me!

Congrats, you can sure tell the lush year. I've never seen so much fat on deer. The does we got up N had an honest 2" layer on their back just ahead of their hips. Was so thick it was almost gross trimming it off.
Meat's sure good though, not gamey in the least. Even the buck we got down here had a good layer.
Hopefully they all survive from now till spring, I'm afraid we'll pay for that easy fall. Should be another wet one next yr.

This was also the case with the moose in this part of the country. I never seen so much fat on a animal.
