My vote goes to fixed.

As for 'LCF', who on earth are you trying to look cool for? The other range commandos? Pose in front of a mirror? Ask yourself this: Will you ever be in a situation that requires a folding stock? If you don't plan on entering/exiting patrol vehicles often, riding in the back of an APC, or jumping out of an aircraft, then a folding stock is pretty much useless as far as your needs are concerned, unless you are short on space in the trunk of the family car to transport it to the range...

Go fixed, and if that bothers you, compromise and get an adjustable stock.

I'm not trying to look cool. the folder is shorter and i can use it with one of those huge marshmallow man coats, and i also go as light as i possibly can and the folder is very light, i don't see why I must be some mirror ninja to like these aspects, I can get an alright cheek weld and i'm working on adding some sort of cheek pad to improve it and be more repeatable. You never know what the future holds and i like being able to fold it down, Maybe i'll never need it to fold but its nice to have the option available at little loss. With an aimpoint you can fire the rifle with it folded.

I shoot with a sling on my gun with the stock folded, why because I can! Not to say that I would be entering a car or not with it. Have you ever shot a gun with the stock folded, NOW THAT TAKES SKILL.

I hate any of that crap on my gun, I have an Ar to strap all that kinda garbage on, it takes away from the reason i bought a Vz. The gun works fine with a stock folder it works fine with the fixed, its not designed for all these strap on goodies nor does it look good with them(imo). People keep trying to turn this rifle into something its not, its not a sniper rifle, its not an ar15, its a VZ58 and it should stay so, not turned into some messed up love child of the above. It takes away from what truly makes this platform stand out against all the other comblocks of its era. If i were to choose i'm going with a folder, why insult it? saying its for mirror ninjas? I have my reasons for liking it, nor do i bash others for liking the fixed. Either way its a VZ58 and I'm glad i chose it. Most i see adding is a reddot. KISS.

Who said anything about turning the VZ into an AR? A telescoping butt is a telescoping butt, and an adjustable length of pull is desirable. Especially when it can be done quickly without adding or removing spacers. I want my rifle to fit me, not the other way around.

The OP's only attraction to the folder was for the `badass` looks... hence the range commando/ninja comment. No need to get all defensive. ;)

Yes, the folder on the VZ does look good, but I`m not going to let that be the main reason why I get it.

Yes. And I almost lost my front teeth.

I chose the folder because if fits into my pack, under a seat and other places where space is at a premium. I do like the feel of the fixed and the fact I can butt-stroke with it (don't say it) but the folder appealed to my SHTF sensibilities...

get the folder and ask a buddy to stroke your but or stroke his...

I went with the folder. Compact was the main consideration, but also that I don't creep a stock & therefore don't have issues with the length of pull the folder has.

Cheers

Had a friend have real troubles getting his fixed stock off. Eventually had to cut the thing to relieve the tension on the bolt. He called Wolverine beforehand and they confirmed that this was the best method for removal sometimes. Does limit its use afterwards. He was putting on a folding stock BTW.
