Where to buy 358 win brass

Hello everybody. Just bought a BLR in 358 win. Anybody have any idea where I can get 358 win brass...I've looked at all of the easy/usual places with no luck. Any input would be appreciated.Thanks. Bill.
 
Try higginsons powder if no luck there, you can always make them with 308 win cases, lube thew inside of the neck well and run them through your resizing die. I have made 356 win out of 307 win with no issues. They are the same as 308/358 only with a rim.
 
Winchester only makes a run of 358 ammo and brass once every 2 years or so. I used a newer set of RCBS full length dies that have a tapered ball expander and 308 brass, one pass and your set to go, no fire forming required.
 
I had my local gun smith order it and had it in three days.Looks a lot cooler than the 308 reformed round I used for sighting in and for load devolopment.If it helps try imr 4895 at 45 1/2 gr with nosler partion 225 gr bullets ,I was surprised how well my blr grouped
 
I've seen .358 brass once in a while at shows, and in local shops. While it would be cool to have some actually stamped as .358W, I always suffer a cheap attack, and continue to use resized .308 brass, an abundance of which I already have, and acquired essentially for free.

I have necked up scores of 308 Win to 358 over the past 25 years, and never had a moment of trouble. Just lube the case, including the inside of the neck, size the brass with the die adjusted so the bolt will just barely close on the resized case, load and go. No fire-forming necessary, as the case will already have zero headspace.

I have loaded for many 358's over the years and always get better accuracy out of necked up .308 brass. I have no idea why but they come out more consistant than factory .358
 
Epp's lists it. No prices. Shooter's Choice, in Waterloo, wants $39.95 per 50 for Winchester brass. Indicated as being kept in stock too.

Can't say more accurate, but my loads with reformed 358/308 has always been just as accurate as with factory 358 brass.

The last [and only] bag of factorty .358 I bought had horribly inconsistent neck thickness, were not square and o.a.l. 's were not even close. I don't like having to full lenth size and heavily trim new brass, so I neck up 308 with great results and suprisingly long life.
 
I have 358 brass and have been playing with the new dies and some old 308 brass.
There seems to be a bump at the bottom of the neck starting at the transition of the 308 neck when it is expanded to 358. Is this a problem?
Has anyone tried to make 358 brass out of 30-06. Seems like a lot of work but I am looking for a small project. I have lots of 30-06 brass.

30-06 opened to 35 = 35 whelan. Too much trimming to make 358. 308 brass is cheap and plentiful easy to make 358 win with it.
 
Problem with 308 to 358, the OAL of the case ends up to short.
I am playing with the 30-06 cases right now and I think I can shorten them in my lathe using a mandrill and a parting tool. I will let you know how it works. They will have to be neck turned as well. Might be a lot of work for nothing.
