I keep reading these threads and seeing everyone's deer, and this will be the second season I haven't gotten to go out. I foolishly decided university exams were more important for a second time.

Wow lots of chocolate antlers this year . Way to go now you need a good taxidermist

It seems the darker antlers come from deer in the pines. Don't know why.

The horns stay darker because the sun doesn't shine on them. Next time you drive by a deer or elk farm look at how white they are out in the open.

I thought it depended on the type of trees it was rubbing on. Don't think it has anything to do with the sun.
