.311 (.303) bullet options? What's out their?

I would like to get inti some longer range shooting with my Enfields. And I need a decent bullet to do so. Ive only tried the 174 grain hornady FMJBT and the round nose flat base. what is out their in decent quality bullets? I would prefer Flat base as thats what the en field was designed to shoot. Are the Barnes TSX bullets any good?

So Far All ive been loading is plinking rounds, so precision stuff is new to me. Thanks.
 
I load with 174gr .312 HPBT Hornady's for my mosin and they show some serious potential over others I have used. Will be picking up more when I can, got them from Henry N in the EE at 31/100. They would do better in a decent rifle like an Enfield i think!

You should try cast ! Yes cast , with the correct diameter boolit (you should slug your bore anyway as the enfields have a bore that can range up to .317") and powder combo you could realise quite good accuracy potential ! Not to mention shooting for almost free !!!

great potential with the cast bullets and such a large selection.
with the right bullet diameter in cast and the right powder 300m is very doable
 
I have used both the 174gr matchking and the Hornady 174gr HPBT. The Hornady is a more consistant bullet. The weights are good and the points are well formed. My biggest complaint oabout the matchking is the jagged looking points and having to trim them to smooth them out. The price was better for the Hornady as well. I bought my Hornady's from MysticPlayer. Very happy camper and the service was great!
 
The Sierra match kings are a good bullet, I've also had good success with Hornady 150 grn SP's. Sounds light, I know, but they do shoot quite well. Also worth a try is Remington's 180 grn Core-Lokt SP. H4895 and IMR 4064 both work quite descent with above-mentioned bullets.
 
Steve at 303british.com makes some .3145" bullets. Just bought some 180gn's and some 200gns for my older cavalry carbine and my SMLE. They shoot them better since they are a bigger bore. (Had to polish down a decapping pin from a 8x57mm die set). But they work fine.
 
Anyone know of a good place to buy cast bullets for the .303 in alberta (Edmonton if possible) I'd like to eventually be set up to make my own but I gotta go one step at a time fore now.
 
I prefer 150gr Hornady for all round shooting, 42 gr of IMR3031/150gr Hornady, comes in at 2600fps out of my sporter #4 mk1 longbranch.
BLC-2 is even better but can't recall the load off the top of the mellon this late in the day.
