Is the STI Edge a rebadged Grand Power K100?

STI has the North American exclusive right to the Grand Power K100. So any new K100's for sale in North America are STI GP-6's. There are a few visible minor differences between the two guns, such as the hammer and markings, but STI claims that the GP-6 is built to STI's specifications...

IIRC these guns were available in Canada before they were in US. Marstar was the original distributor, designer wasn't happy with a number of sales and switched to another company (TSE?). Then they got a deal with STI who sells it under their name, similarly to the way Tanfoglio is sold in the US under EAA Witness name. I was interested in them a couple of times, but they are a little expensive now compared to the original Marstar price of $450.

The original Marstar price was $599 for the basic model, $649 for the two-tone and around $750 for the target model with FO front sight and adjustable rear. Six weeks after I bought a two-tone, Marstar dropped the price on all models by $100 and stopped selling them. TSE has continued with the STI models. My two-tone has performed very well and I have no complaints.

I'd love to see STI start offering their take on the K-100xtrim model. Looks hot!

I think I scooped one of the last two-tone ones that Marstar had many years ago. Price was too good to pass up. Liked it so much I picked up a Mk6K100 from TSE and its my primary IPSC pistol. A couple guys I shoot with time to time have the GP-6. Aside from markings, the guns appear identical.

Sadly after the K-100 rename as Gp-6 and under the name STI, the price jack up two hundred dallors. Nice gun but cost more than Glock or M&P.

You need to look at the current price of the GP-6 in Seans price list. The cost has come down, and while I'm biased, I think most serious users will find the trigger alone worth any cost difference.

the single action trigger rivals many 1911 triggers....and in fact is better in some cases.

I've owned, tuned, and had custom trigger work done on 5 or more 1911's, and haven't had one I could rock better than my GP-6.

Scary part is I have the origional version and the newer C model deletes the firing pin safety.:dancingbanana:

I paid $850 for the GP6-C which compares well to K100 target version for $750 if you account for 'gun inflation' i.e. guns rarely get cheaper. :D And the trigger is amazing.
