There seem to be alot of Waterfowlers kicking around out there. Thought a thread like this might them a chance to show off their guns and tell some stories. So lets see your favorite Waterfowling piece. I will start I guess

The gun I shoot for serious Waterfowling is a Browning BPS Stalker with a 3 1/2 inch chamber. I have been shooting it forever and it really likes Kent 1's at 1625fps. It is on the right in the picture. It has nearly 18,000 rounds through it. After the season it is going to be over hauled,reblued or possible camo dipped.I also shoot an Over/Under and a Upland Special 20 gauge, I will post if this thread gets off the ground.

This is what I was using this Fall - Westley Richards 12 ga.hammer double, damascus barrels.
load was 80 grains of FFG with an equal amount of #2 Nice Shoot.
Shoots and handles like a dream with low recoil, but I also used my 20 gauge O/U FAIR as well!:D

Don't have any pictures I can think of with my guns. All of my goose pictures were on 35mm film so I will see if the wife can scan a few for me to post.
In fact I still use that old camera.Old school everything I guess.
 
It takes a little bit of practice shooting from your knees or from a sitting position. You can't turn as much into the shots but it is a fun challenge.

That was the first time I had tried hunting a creek from the Canoe, I use a 12 Foot pointed Sportspal. It is hard to paddle this canoe straight and fast but runs really high in the water (like 2-4") and you can glide over most debris.

Would be more successful with 2 people paddling, the one in the front taking the jump shots.
 
well i dont have any pics, just an Extrema II with 24" bbl .

works a charm though.. a buddy and i shot 2 mallards coming straight at us, his folded and just missed me, mine folded and i looked to the side just in time to see him get hit square in the chest by it :D took him off his feet

one of those times i wish i had invested in an action-cam
 
I haven't 'scared' the spiders out of it for a couple of years but for water fowl, I still have my AYA 10ga. mag SxS 3 1/2". I'll have to pick up some Bismuth shot or I guess now, ITX shot. It patterns really tight so I don't want to open up the chokes for steel.

This is the 2nd AYA 10ga I've had but with the nice wood I think I'll keep this one:).

That is an awesome shotgun. I have a Greener 10 gauge 2 7/8 chamber damascus at Les Paul's right now. When I get it back, I am going to try BP and nice shot out of mine. I am looking forward to creating a fog bank when I pull the trigger.

Sweet 10 gauges. what loads do you shoot out of it?

For factory, at one time, I was using Winchester Super X 2oz but even better yet were the Federal Premium 2oz loads. For handloads my buddy and I cranked out 2oz & 2 1/4oz loads with granulated poly etc.

I used to carry a 10' pole and an inner tube with me.
When I got to where I wanted to set up, the pole was lashed to the centre thwart with the inner tube tied to the end of it - instant outrigger!!:rockOn:
Two people works well when jump shooting however, but in a shorter canoe I tend to hunt alone.
My 16's were perfect for hunting with two fellas however.
Dad had an 18 freighter at one time, with super deep gunwales and a square back that he had built a dog ladder for.
He poled that one .
I'm going to hunt out of the canoes again next year with my son., it should be a hoot!:D
