Hi-Power grips and safeties

Im thinking of doing some minor changes to my MkIII Hi-Power, along the lines of some thinner synthetic grips and an extended safety.

Grip wise, anyone have experience with VZ's pro slim grips, or the navidrex micarta grips?

As for the safety, I'm considering an extended one to keep my thumb from holding down the slide catch. It seems to work for me on the Shadow, so might be worth a try. I'm thinking of getting the one from C&S but if there are others available what would you suggest?

I really liked the navidrex micarta grips when I had my HP.

I never bothered with the extended safety as I found the one that came on the Mark III was fine for me. These are far better than the original HP safety.

X2 on the navidrex grips, made a huge difference!

if you go with the saftey let me know how it works out, i'm not thrilled with that bit of the pistol either.

So navidrex grips it is then! I'll save up my beans and probably order the grips and the safety from brownells. Hopefully the $100 limit doesn't include taxes. The safety will hopefully keep my thumb just a bit higher than it is to keep me from holding down that slide stop, then I can concentrate on keeping my thumb from contacting the slide and slowing it down.

The US$100. limit is the wholesale value. Last I checked, Brownells said that Navidrex wasn't registered with State; (so) they wouldn't export Navidrex anymore.

Fortunately, the VZ grips are even better, albeit a bit thicker, and VZ will also ship direct.

Thanks for the heads up Wendell, I was looking at the notices tagged to the grips and did not see anything other than the notice about the $100 total, so thought it was good to go. The VZ grips do look good though as well and may add a bit of flair.
