Cougar 18.5 semi

Very impressed with the quality of the new shotguns from Can Am, the cougar is even better in real life. The pics dont do it justice. The wood is finished nicely & it comes with a screw choke, ghost ring sites & a +2 mag extension with extra spring & hunting plug. Im going to take it out tomorrow & run her through the paces!

I like the look of the wood furniture on that. Wood stocked defense shotguns got that 'old school cool' flavor to them

was playing with one last night, i dont know how people are planing to keep the end cap on the +2 mag tube.
Allso dont forget you have to permantly block that mag tube ASAP to take only 5 rounds, dont thing the old plug in the tube trip is going to stop a trip the the cop shop is anyone tests that gun.
Let us know how you manage to keep the 3 parts to the mag tube from un screwing, we had to stop evey 5 mins and screw it back togeather.

Wouldn't some Red Loctite solve this issue? Or is it more actually complex than it sounds?

blue loctite should do it, or if there is a spot that can be peened. interesting non the least

the issue is that they use the standard mag cap to go on the end of the +2 tube and a conection ring to mate the fixed tube to the +2.
so as soon as you start loadign the shells the 3 parts start spining lose.
you would have to loc tite the 3 parts togeather, then you cant take the tube off for cleaning.
Or loc tite the end cap to the +2 tube and use a 2pc barrle clamp to stop it from coming lose.
Then you could have no standard end cap.
Not sure how people are planing to pin the mag tube so it only holds 5 round but i would just not bother with the +2 just get a +1 to make it 5+1 in the gun, or not bother at all.

Remember CanAm gave out free pistol grip for their 8.5 Griz? Same thing here.

Rem 1100 looks cool with 870 +2 extension.

plug a mag tube on a pump gun to reduce for hunting.
But is a semi auto has a mag cap of over 5rds and is easly capable of being adapted to hold more then 5rds the nyou are talking prohibited device= jail time.
You have to perm block you +2 if installed on a semi auto shotgun.
Puting in a plug you can take out, will get you jail time.
same as my glock mags, pinned not just a bit of wood in the bottom.
If you want to get the full 5 rounds out of the cougar install and perm block the mag tube, or buy a +1 and just screw it on.

If this tube is designed for a pump action 870, then wouldn`t that make it a legal magazine on an 1100. Kind of a AIA magazine for M14s type thing.
Not to get overly technical, but our mag laws are quite ambiguous, and this may be one of those cases.

No the mag that comes with it is for a 1100, but it allso would fit a 870.
I would not even go near that.
