FSN-01K Initial Review Finish & Internal Differences

paging mr. venom bullet. I couldn't see this in your pictures. I know the inside of the receiver has weld spots for the metal bar I don't see an additional weld underneath and on the outside of the receiver as necessary.

That isn't a weld spot, it is a heat spot from the welding inside the receiver. The metal bar had to have been installed after the finish was done and the heat of welding affected the finish.

BTW, I have seen H&K P7's with that same plum bluing color.

man that thing is short. I love it! I'm interested in how well that finish stands up to rust. Id imagine not too well.

It'll be the same as any other blued firearm. If you neglect it, it will rust. Keep it clean and dry and oil it once in a while and it will be fine.

Yes my receiver is not plum but the bolt is. I have the same internals as yours I prefer the welded bar. Most other cz I have in my collection have a giant weld where the f/a disconnector would go. I find this to be the cleanest internals second would be the 4v's. I asked why the plum colour and the response was higher carbon content in the metal.

what about the weld spot by the trigger guard on the outside?

I packed it up and went to sight in my nea rail and trs25 Saturday and Sunday and was side tracked each time. I am shooting for Sunday. I will post about my experience if I think it will be useful.

can you pull the safety out of the receiver with just your fingers, what keeps the safety from falling out ? the retaining bracket is only on the one pin for your sear ???
