Coming fom a long range guy with custom rifles. i am comsidering a XCR for a toy, what got me interested is the non-restricted aspect. now i know wolverine has XCRs for $2300 thats just stupid expencive for a rifle that scaters bullets all over the place. guys selling on gun nuts still want $2000-2300 for used ones witch is also outragious. i have seen no people post pictures of groupings shot with there XCR. i have heard about all the feeding problems the XCRs have.

Can anyone tell me what a used or new XCR should be worth?
Guys with XCRs what did you pay new and where did you purchase them?

wolverine is the importer.
there accuracy depends on the shooter.
i have never heard of loading problems on this forum.
if your are really a costume long rang shooter then 2300 is peanuts, i have heard that those rifles cost allot.
the xcrs we get in canada are loaded with all the extras.

Hold off tell next year than and get the Kel Tec SU 16 that will only weighs 5 pounds fully loaded and will get the same results as the XCR except for the fact that they say it will retail less than $1000 and will come in non-restricted.

Then take your saving's and use it towards another precision rig ;)

Im not worried about the price. i am worried what accuracy i will get for that price. i hope your not saying that there are no good shooters on this form because i have never seen anyone brag about there XCRs Accuracy. i have also never seen proof that they shoot in a picture. on the precision Rifle Thread members of this form show pictures of groups shot with there rigs all the time.
Why never proof with an XCR?

I also already know that wolverine is an importer thats not news to me i want to know what a fair price is for this rifle?

Wolverine is a great store with staff that know there firearms but the have steep prices on some things.

If you're worried about accuracy over price, get a Swiss Arms Classic Green.

My $.02

man its gunna be a pain in the ass and wallet to make the su 16 rifles vault is importing look like that one. he is importing the su16A2 which is pretty much the basic model. maybe if there is demand for this E model then he will import them too.

The XCR is a combat rifle with good accuracy but not a premium target gun. Have a look at Questar/ Rock River AR varmint rig for around 1500$. That will be a better choice that a standard XCR.

Supply and Demand. Import costs and profit margins.
My XCR shot 3/4" 10 shot groups at 50 yards off a bench with decent ammo. Thats about par for a service rifle.

They're expensive because they're a non restricted black rifle thats similar to an AR15. Why is an AR so expensive new? You cant get any kind of decent quality AR for less than 1700 bucks brand new in Canada. Why is a Sig550 3300$? Supply and demand, there are ALOT more AR's in Canada than XCR's.

A fair price in the states would be 1300 bucks. That what the gun is worth IMO. But thats not where we live.Welcome to the great white communist north where everything is twice the price.

Worried about accuracy? Get an HK SL8. It's got a heavy target barrel, lots of rail space, and it's non-restricted. Can be found for 1800$ on the EE, making it cheaper than the Swiss Arms, but with equivalent accuracy (if not better, but I don't know about that).

The XCR is not, and has never been, a combat rifle. It is a civilian sporting firearm.

I'm drooling over that rifle !

This is productive keep the coments and ideas coming. It needs to be a non restricted rig though I have handguns and I don't use them at all do to the restriction. I'm not looking for great accuracy I am looking for a 1.5 inch group at 100 type rifle.

My uncle in Denver now has two XCR's since moving there 5 years ago, I believe he paid $1400 for his last one in 6.8MM and lets me know about it every time we talk:rolleyes: I guess its all supply and demand as well as the non restricted issue. It is nice to have him there to pick up my optics for me though.

This is productive it is giving me new ideas. keep it coming. it has to be a non-restricted rig though and preferably in 7.62. this would be so easy to decide if canada gov would only loosen up on the AR15 frame. i am not looking for match grade accuracy i am looking for combat accuracy is 1.5'' @100 to much to ask for?
